Start of vocational training at BAUER

Schrobenhausen, Germany – From the classroom to the workbench or the office: For many young people in Bavaria, September 1, 2026, was a landmark date, as starting their vocational training marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. The BAUER Group welcomed a total of 43 young trainees. This means that all apprenticeship positions are once again occupied. In addition, two apprentices from BAUER MAT traveled to the training kickoff with their trainer, Anita Kleimeier, from Immenstadt.

The program was the same for all new trainees during their first few days at BAUER. For years, the three-day onboarding program has been an integral part of starting a career. After a brief welcome, the young people headed straight to Scherneck Castle on the very first day, where a varied program awaited them. There, they had to solve tasks together, try their hand at the high ropes course, and make their first connections—an important step for their future professional lives.

On days two and three, theory and practice alternated throughout the day. Various presentations provided exciting insights into the company. Plant tours in Aresing and Edelshausen were also on the agenda. A special highlight awaited the trainees at the training grounds, where they were allowed to get behind the wheel and operate one of the massive drilling rigs themselves – an experience they’ll never forget.

“We’ve been holding this three-day orientation program for many years and have had excellent results,” says Gerhard Piske. The change of scenery on the first day, in particular, helps ease the young people’s nerves. In addition, they get to know one another through group work, begin to build a network, gain a good overview of the company and the work environment at BAUER, and head to their respective departments on the fourth day with renewed self-confidence.
