German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz visits Bauer site in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, UAE – On February 6, the BAUER Group welcomed Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, together with a high-ranking delegation from politics and business, to its facility in the KEZAD Industrial Zone in Abu Dhabi.

The visit underscored the close economic ties between Germany and the United Arab Emirates. For Bauer, it provided an opportunity to showcase the company’s expertise and capabilities in specialist foundation engineering. During a tour of the approximately 60,000-square-meter site, the Chancellor and his delegation gained insight into the company’s workshops, storage areas, and project logistics operations.

As part of the visit, Marco Vogel and Mirko Michalewicz outlined operations, the breadth and versatility of the equipment fleet, and key reference projects spanning nearly five decades of continuous presence in the region. A highlight of the program was a live demonstration of the MC 86 duty-cycle crane.

The visit also placed strong emphasis on personal exchange with young professionals from Bauer. In discussions with the Chancellor, topics included professional qualification, talent development, and international collaboration. To conclude the visit, the hosts presented the Chancellor with the BAUER Group’s corporate history book and a scale model of an MC 96 duty-cycle crane.
